A skilled dentist does their absolute best work when they’re using the latest instruments and techniques for the treatment in question. Since Dr. Dooley cares about achieving quick, accurate results for his patients while also keeping them comfortable, he constantly keeps his eye on modern advancements so that he can continue updating our dental office with the best equipment available. Take a few moments to learn more about our technology below before you contact our dental office.

Intraoral Cameras

Dentist using intraoral camera to capture smile images

It goes without saying that you can’t normally take a close look inside of your own mouth. As such, an intraoral camera allows us to show you exactly what we see when we’re examining your smile. We’ll take pictures of your mouth, then pull them up on a nearby computer screen for easy viewing. The images can be enhanced as needed so that we can show you the areas where tooth decay and gum disease are starting to take effect.

All-Digital X-Rays

Rather than increase your family’s chances of being exposed to dangerous radiation, Dooley Dental uses digital X-rays. This technique reduces radiation by up to 90%! Not only that, but digital X-rays are much clearer than traditional X-rays, and they can be projected on a screen for you and Dr. Dooley to look at together. By seeing your X-rays this way, we can do a better job of explaining your needs and helping you understand your treatment solutions.

3D Cone Beam Imaging

Traditional X-rays may not provide all the information needed for implant placement and other extensive procedures. Instead, 3D cone beam imaging is employed to create a more complete model of your mouth. A cone-shaped X-ray beam circles your head, takes a number of images, and uses them to create a three-dimensional image that tells us about the locations of nerve paths, dental structures, and anything else that we’ll have to account for during the procedure.

TRIOS® Digital Impressions

You might be expecting us to place some putty in your mouth when the time comes to take impressions, but instead we’ll simply use our state-of-the-art TRIOS system. A wandlike device is placed in your mouth and creates a precise three-dimensional image of your teeth and gums. This image will be sent to a dental lab in order to design a dental restoration based on your specific requirements. The accuracy of the TRIOS system helps ensure that we won’t have to retake the impressions later.

Laser Dentistry

A soft tissue dental laser is one specifically used for treatments involving the gums or other soft tissues inside of your mouth. It’s very easy to aim and control the laser so that only a small amount of tissue is removed, and the entire procedure is largely painless compared to what you’d normally experience with traditional dental instruments. Lasers also help minimize bleeding at the end of the procedure and help speed up the recovery process afterwards.

Laser dental treatments include eliminating tooth sensitivity and providing immediate cure of cold and canker sores. During many periodontal treatments, Dr. Dooley may opt to use a dental laser. By using this technology, our staff performs procedures more effectively and painlessly. Laser dentistry can also provide painless reshaping of the gum line for a more beautiful smile. During many periodontal treatments, Dr. Dooley may opt to use a dental laser. By using this technology, our staff can perform procedures more effectively and with a higher level of control of harmful bacteria.
